HUD for Claude is a two-part product: a Chrome browser extension and a desktop app (macOS or Windows). Both are built by a single independent developer. This policy explains exactly what data is read, where it goes, and what is stored.
Your data never leaves your computer. There are no servers, no analytics, no accounts, no tracking. The extension reads four public usage numbers from your claude.ai usage page and sends them to the desktop app running on your own machine via localhost. That's it.
The extension does not read:
The scraped numbers are sent to ws://localhost:27843 — a WebSocket server running on your own computer, started by the HUD for Claude desktop app. Nothing is sent over the internet. Nothing is sent to the developer or any third party.
chrome.storage.local so the extension popup can display them instantly when clicked. This cache is overwritten every 30 seconds and never leaves your browser profile.~/Library/Application Support/HUD for Claude/ on Mac, %APPDATA%\HUD for Claude\ on Windows. No usage data is persisted to disk.None. No analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no ad networks, no remote APIs.
HUD for Claude is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
If the product ever starts collecting different data, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will also be announced on the product page.
